I thought I might be unusual for fancying fictional characters. Society laughs at such people. Honestly, that’s how I discovered my preferences. « Experts » and « critics » want to believe gaming rots our brains, but they said the same thing about books and television. My partner and I bonded over gaming. My imagination has been stimulated by this medium. The Sims helped me experiment with my sexuality, Mass Effect and Dragon Age helped me accept it.

I meant to answer this yesterday but, you know, sleep is still a thing I haven’t managed to uninstall.

You know… I find that liking fictional characters is a strong, strong, STRONG indicator of Demissexuality. Not the only one, by any means, and not exclusively either, but the fact you start to like a character or be attracted to them, as you get to know them? That, to me, screams Demi (where’s the Demi flag emoji when you need it?)

Anyway, society and experts can have an opinion when they start paying my bills, I’ll even pretend to listen while thinking of the next smut chapter of my fic.

In this house we love and support 6’2” strongly muscled men with scars and calloused hands who just want to be the little spoon and want to be kissed on their neck and shoulders until they fall asleep and finally dream without nightmares because someone’s holding them and everything finally feels okay
