Excerpt From World of Thedas Vol. II Bestiary

High Dragons: Gamordan Stormrider

The Gamordan Stormrider is quite popular among Orlesian artists. Its vivid colors and ability to spit blazing bolts of lightning have been immortalized in many paintings, usually of the dragon fighting a regiment of bold, brave, and probably doomed chevaliers. This romantic tableau persists in art even though, in reality, most knights never see the beasts. The Stormrider prefers to make its lair in swampy places isolated from large human settlements, where only the occasional unfortunate farmer or caravan falls victim to its appetite.

CONFESSION:

While I truly am looking forward to the Dread Wolf Rises, I hope if and when they tease us again, they will show us that this game is not only about Solas and there is other content.
I love the Dragon Age Series….and all of the Lore. Sometimes I think I’m the only fan that feels this way when I’m on Tumblr.
I’m truly sorry if this angers people. Its just the way I feel. 😦

Don’t worry OP, you’re not alone.

Entering the Deep Roads, The Descent

Lift scene.

Cast list, in order of appearance: Sera, the Inquisitor, Dorian, Blackwall.

Sera (exasperated): “Stupid Darkspawn” *spits*

Inquisitor (nonchalant): “You’re much more likely to hit rock.”

Sera (stoic): “Still their house. Message sent.”

Dorian: “Is it me or is this the slowest lift ever constructed?”

Inquisitor: “It’s better than climbing down.”

Dorian (relaxed): “I could do with some music. Something with a flute?”

Blackwall (serious and contemplative): “Always wondered if I’d died down here”

Inquisitor (teasing): “You’re not dead yet.”

Blackwall (deadpan): “The day’s just starting.”

World of Thedas Volume 2

The second lore book is out, and it’s kind of ridiculous. It’s heavy, stacked to the gills with lore, stories, recipes, songs, and juicy gossip. It also includes some never-before-seen concept art, as well as a large amount of new content we made specifically for this book. I honestly can’t even believe we made this thing.

Here are a few of the original pieces I was fortunate enough to contribute to this ludicrous tome, in order:

Darinius, first Archon of Tevinter

Garahel and Isseya

Garahel slays the Archdemon

Some of the cast of Dragon Age: Origins

Illustration for Mir Da’len Somniar, a traditional Dalish lullaby

Also, be sure to check out Nick Thornborrow’s post about this as well. Not only did he curate the art for this book, he also created a ton of original content for it.

For those who are interested in picking it up:

you can pick up the hardcover on Amazon

Or pick up the special edition on the Bioware store.

Blackwall:  I notice you seem to focus yourself before battle, Cassandra.
Cassandra:  I still my mind and focus my thoughts on the Maker. I ask for His guidance. I ask to be reforged into an instrument of His will. What about you? How do you center yourself?
Blackwall:  I tell myself, “It’s them or you. And if it’s you, be damn sure to take the bastards with you.”
Cassandra:  Well, that’s …
Blackwall:  Crude, yes, but it works.
