i just love thinking about blackwall, who spent the last what… decade??? thinking that he was unworthy and disgusting and irredeemable – thinking that he could never be a good person as thom rainier

blackwall, who stole a good man’s name because he wanted to try to be a fraction of what that man was – trying hard and failing but trying anyway because that’s the only way he could even start to forgive himself

that blackwall, who felt like he could never safely call anyone his friends or any place his home, finding love and friendship and comfort in the inquisition

learning that he is valued that he is worth something not just as warden blackwall but as thom rainier too

and slowly starting to accept the name thom because he looks at people like sera, who always believed in him, and people like dorian, who didn’t like him at first but gave him a chance, and realize that they don’t see a monster? just a friend

and he looks at the inquisitor who made all of this happen. who loved him and told him he was a good man when he was just still pretending to be one and feels right at home for the first time in a long time

and i just get so emotional don’t think about blackwall this way friends lest u get emotional at 2 am as well

i just remembered that if you flirt with blackwall too hard in the beginning and tell him that they’re more compliments in your private quarters he starts choking/coughing and laughing nervously
